68th Santosh Trophy: 24 players chosen from Jammu&Kashmir trials for preparatory camp!

24 players have been picked from the first phase of trials for the Jammu-and-Kashmir senior state football team which will participate in the 68th edition of the Santosh Trophy. 36 players had been spotted during the J&K season and they were asked to appear for trials at the GGM Science College Ground in Jammu.

Now the 24 selected players would undergo a coaching camp prior to their participation in the Santosh Trophy. Amongst the selectors were Mohammad Shafi Nari (first J&K international footballer, AFC licenced coach), Majeed Kakroo (former India captain, AFC licenced coach), Satpal Singh (Coach State Sports Council) and Vishvamitra (Coach State Sports Council), who had been appointed by the J&K Football Association.

Further Muhammad Shafi Nari has been appointed coach of the state team with Majid Yousuf Dar (Manager Sports J&K Bank) as team manager and Dr. Karran Nayyar as Team Physio. Jammu-and-Kashmir is placed in group B of the North Zone qualifiers alongside Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh which will be played at the B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi with the final round set to be held in Siliguri, West Bengal.
