Two Indian women footballers plying their trades in Europe, Aditi Chauhan and Tanvie Hans have been nominated for the Woman in Football Award for the 3rd Asian Football Awards 2015. The award function will take place on 19th November at the Wembley Stadium in London.

The ceremony is supported by the English Football Association (FA) and the Asian Football Project. This initiative from FA started back in 2012, to promote the Asian talent playing in the English circuit.

Aditi Chauhan, who plays as a goalkeeper for the Indian national team and joined the West Ham United ladies team back in August, hails from Delhi and is the first Indian-born player to play in England. Her debut didn’t go as well as expected, as his team succumbed to a 5-0 defeat against Coventry ladies, however, the Indian earned her first clean sheet in the next match, a 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

On the other hand, there is Tanvie Hans, who was denied entry into the Indian women’s football team because she had a British passport, has also been nominated. She used to play for Tottenham Hotspur ladies team and recently moved to Fulham FC ladies team.

Monica Sharma of Fulham and Sabah Mahmood of London Bari FC are the other two nominees for the Women in football award. There are various other categories for which the awards will be given in the event.
