AFC delegation inspects venues in India for 2015 medical conference

A two-member Asian Football Confederation (AFC) delegation led by Dato Gurcharan Singh, chairman of the AFC medical committee visited New Delhi for venue inspection for the AFC Conference on Science and Football Medicine to be held in April 2015. The delegation inspected various probable hotels as venues for the mega event.The Conference, the first of its kind to be held in India, is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from April 2 – 4, 2015.

Besides All India Football Federation General Secretary Kushal Das, Dato Gurcharan Singh was also accompanied by Ms. Edna Ponelas-Carpio, Administrator Sports Medicine Department; Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, FIFA Regional Developmental Officer for South and Central Asia; Shubhankar Mukherjee, Director, National Teams, Ashok Arora, AIFF Manager Logistics, and Dr. P.S.M. Chandran. Besides, there were also separate meetings with AIFF departmental heads.

Kushal Das said that the Delegation was ‘satisfied with the facilities’.

“The AFC Team led by Dato Gurcharan Singh came over to inspect the possible venues for the 5th AFC medical conference to be held in New Delhi in April 2015. They were extremely satisfied with the facilities and were optimistic that this would be a very good conference with big participation,” he told AIFF Media.

“The AIFF along with the FIFA development office will make every effort to make this conference a big success,” he added.

Around 800 to 1,000 participants from all over the world are expected for the AFC medical conference.
