AIFF Grassroots development course was recently conducted in Kolkata

Having agreed to follow the AIFF Grassroots philosophy, the Indian Football Association (West Bengal) is set to launch the Grassroots Development Programme for the children between 6-12 years of age.

As part of the Grassroots development plan, IFA took the first step and organized their first AIFF Grassroots course in the closing week of February 2015. AIFF's Grassroots Instructor Ms. Anjana Turambekar is assisting IFA for further planning to develop a long-term Grassroots plan.

The first-ever AIFF's Grassroots course in West Bengal took place at Gangadharpur BPed College Campus from February 26 to March 2, 2015. The Course covered topics ranging from Grassroots philosophy and objectives, role of the coach educator, pedagogy of coaching, benefits and importance of small-sided games, how to organize a festival, etc.

A total of 40 coaches from different parts of the Kolkata were trained as the Course ended with a football festival in which 96 kids took part.

Utpal Kumar Ganguly, Honorary Secretary, IFA (WB) visited the camp to encourage the coaches and kids during the course. Mr. Ganguly expressed his gratitude and appreciated AIFF for helping to develop the Grassroots Programme.
