Alessandro Nesta has said that he wishes to retire and go into coaching after the season comes to an end. The 37-year-old Italian, who currently plays for Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer, has told BBC that will go into coaching at the end of Major League Soccer’s season.

Nesta started his career with Lazio and made more than 261 appearances for the club before leaving for Milan, and he went on to appear 326 times for the Rossoneri. He was named Serie A’s best defender for four straight years beginning in 2000, but the highlight of his career was the World Cup win of 2006. Nesta has been considered as one of the best centre-backs to have ever played the game.
