David Beckham to move to A-League?

The Australian suggests that Beckham’s management are looking for opportunities for their client to play in the A-League when his contract with US Major League club L.A Galaxy ends next month.

An FFA spokesman said: “The approach from David Beckham‘s people is another sign of how much the Hyundai A-League has grown in stature on a global basis.

“Beckham is a superstar on the world stage, and he would be another massive signing for the A-League after the arrivals of Alessandro Del Piero, Emile Heskey and Shinji Ono. But this approach remains at a very preliminary stage.”

The former Manchester United man is likely to demand a large fee, out of the reach of most Australian clubs.

Any decision he would make to play here, thus, would certainly depend on his asking price.

Although, David Beckham’s spokesman claimed the news to be rubbish.

He said: “Always enormous interest from clubs across world in signing David.. absolutely no plans to play in Australia. David is completely focused on the MLS play-offs and winning another Championship with the Galaxy.”
