In another addition to their midfield Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan AC have signed experienced 27 year old winger Nicolau Borges from Goan side Dempo SC for the new season. Nicolau Borges, who can also play as a left-back, is the third Mariners signing from Dempo SC after defender Rowilson Rodrigues and another winger in Anthony Pereira had made the switch to Kolkata with coach Karim Bencharifa hoping these experienced players will add quality and depth in his squad.
Nicolau Borges has been playing for Dempo SC since 2007. Earlier in his career he had played for Cabral SC and Sporting Clube de Goa (2004-07).
Borges has joined Mohun Bagan’s practice and is working along with other new recruit Zakeer Mundampara and captain Odafe Onyeka Okolie on his fitness and endurance under the clubs physio-cum-rehab specialist Jonathan Corner.
Borges has been given the no.20 jersey at Mohun Bagan.
