Dutch coach Eelco Schattorie set to takeover at Prayag United

41 year old Dutchman Eelco Schattorie is set to arrive in Kolkata in the early hours of Friday morning to join his new club Prayag United SC less then two days after their now former coach Sanjay Sen handed in his resignation.The visa formalities delayed Schattorie’s arrival to the City of Joy, now sorted he is on his way to India and will join his new team on Friday morning itself to observe their training at the Central Park Ground in Saltlake.As per the managements plans assistant coach Anjan Nath will be in-charge of the team on Saturday in their match against United Sikkim FC before Eelco Schattorie then takes over.The Dutchman started his coaching career at VVV Venlo were he worked his way up from the youth to the first team and thereafter started his international sojourn which took him to Al Jazeera (UAE), Al Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia), Al Shaab SCS (UAE), Al Riffa SC (Bahrain), Muscat FC (Oman), Fanja Club (Oman), Al-Khaleej Club (Saudi Arabia) and finally at Red Bull Ghana.

Prayag United has put together a high profile and costly squad with the management demanding results, but not only that they want to win the I-League title this season. For that they made this change in coach and if it will give them the desired results will have to be seen in the weeks and months to come.
