FIFA U-17 World Cup: 5 Premier League players feat. Man Utd, Liverpool starlets who will be in India this year

England v Italy: U17 International
England are one of the favourites for the FIFA U-17 World Cup

The FIFA U-17 World Cup is just around the corner with India ready to host a footballing event of such magnitude for the first time. England are one of the teams to arrive in the country soon and are considered as one of the favourites for the World Cup. The Young Lions reached the final of the U-17 Euros in May and have been producing promising results one after the other.

The youngsters under Steve Cooper have done tremendously well and will be hoping to establish themselves as the future stars of the game in the country's third ever participation in the tournament. England's squad features some exciting talents which are set to take the Premier League by storm in the coming years. Here is a list which features five English U-17 players who have previously featured or are now a part of a first team squad in the Premier League:

#5 Josef Bursik (Stoke City)

England's goalkeeper Josef Bursik joined the Potters in July from AFC Wimbledon. The 16-year-old is a highly rated custodian and is considered as one for the future at the Bet365 Stadium when Jack Butland eventually moves to a bigger club.

Bursik is a brilliant shot stopper with Mark Hughes ready to use him as the club's third choice goalkeeper in the current season as the league progresses.

#4 Tashan Oakley-Boothe (Tottenham Hotspur)

Austria v England - UEFA European Under-17 Championship Qualifier
Oakley-Boothe will make his debut for Spurs this season

The 17-year-old midfielder, Oakley-Boothe, was on the bench in Spurs' last Premier League game against Burnley. The Lilywhites have not signed a midfielder this summer and it is partly due to the fact that manager Mauricio Pochettino has big things in plan for the English U-17 star and is expected to give him playing time in the league this season.

Oakley-Boothe can play as a box to box midfielder or as a defensive midfielder. Pochettino's philosophy hinges on giving the club's youth a chance and Oakley-Boothe is the Spurs player from whom big things are expected.

#3 Angel Gomes (Manchester United)

Manchester United v Crystal Palace - Premier League
The moment when Angel Gomes made his Manchester United debut

Gomes made his Manchester United debut in May against Crystal Palace and in turn become the club's second youngest debutant. He missed the top spot occupied by Duncan Edwards by just 78 days. The forward is considered as one of the best players to emerge out of the United academy with Jose Mourinho being a huge admirer of the 16-year-old.

Gomes won the Jimmy Murphy award - a club accolade - last season, ultimately eclipsing Wayne Rooney as the youngest recipient of the award in the club's history.

#2 Rhian Brewster (Liverpool)

Sydney FC v Liverpool FC

Brewster joined the Reds from Chelsea at the age of 15 and two years later, in April of this year, the young striker was named on the bench against Crystal Palace. Brewster impressed Jurgen Klopp in the first team training which is why he was catapulted from the U-18s to the first team squad.

He was given the no.57 shirt for his first appearance on the bench for Liverpool. The 17-year-old is also a regular in the England set-up and is an influential member of the squad which will soon travel to India.

#1 Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Manchester City v Chelsea - FA Youth Cup Final: First Leg
Pep Guardiola cannot stop raving about Phil Foden

Pep Guardiola's favourite and Manchester City's biggest hope from the academy, Phil Foden regularly trains with the first team squad. He was first introduced to the senior team in December when he was on the bench in a Champions League tie against Celtic. He was also on the bench in last week's 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

The Spanish manager has gushed about Foden on numerous occasions and with the club clearing the deadwood this summer, Foden is expected to be involved heavily for the Citizens this season.
