Brazil came out with the upper hand against Spain in their opening FIFA U17 World Cup match.

Spain:

Alvaro Fernandez: 6

Fernandez had a bad day in the office as he got beaten by Brazil twice during the 90 minutes. He had no reply for Brazil's moves. However he did mange to deny some good shots from them.

Mateu More: 6

The Barcelona academy right back had a decent game with the team. The presence of the athletic Benner made Mateu vulnerable to many attacks. He was often seen making futile attempts to reclaim the ball.

Hugo Guillamon: 5

The Valencia central defender was unable to curb the Brazilian attack. The lethal Brazil side often went past him.

Victor Chust: 6

Identical to what the game was for Hugo, the Real Madrid academy product failed to stand tenaciously at the heart of the defence. His flaws were often exploited by the Brazilians.

Ferran Torres: 7

One of the finest performers for Spain this evening, Torres manipulated the game well for Spain. He supplied the attackers with some delicious crosses, but the Brazilian defenders were up to their task on most occasions. He provided the assist for Spain's first goal.

Mohamed Moukhliss: 8

The Real Madrid academy player had a decent game in Kochi. He opened the scoring for his side, though the goal was later awarded as an own goal by Wesley.

He tried to dictate the game, but it was not enough against a strong side like Brazil.

Alvaro Garcia: 6

The center midfielder was outdone in the middle of the park by the Brazilian midfielders. Though, he managed to create a few opportunities for Spain, the central midfielder was often left with not many good options to pass to.

Gomez's performance was similar to that of Alvaro. He also failed to maraud the balland to lead the attack. He swirled some fine balls into the box, Brazil thwarted most of them.

Abel Ruiz: 7

The La Masia product is among one of the finest performers for Spain. He was able to muster up some insane stuff and tried well to exploit the errors of the Brazilians. He whipped and swirled the ball into the box many times.

Diego Pampin: 6

Diego Pampin had a decent game in the park. However, he lacked the finishing touch in the final third, something that cost Spain dearly.

Carlos Beitia: 7

Carlos Beitia was one of the best players on the pitch, thwarting Brazil attacks, and creating chances at the other end as well. He even showed a lot of heart to soldier on, despite suffering from cramps in the second half.
