Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur player Rohan Ricketts, who was released by I-League champions Dempo after his fall out with coach Armando Colaco and outburst on Twitter about the same, has joined Ecuador outfit Club Deportivo Quevedo.

The 30-year-old announced his move through his Twitter profile @RohanRicketts and once again had some kind words for his former Dempo teammates and club chairman Shrinivas Dempo.

“I am proud to announce that I have signed for Serie A team Deportivo Quevedo in Ecuador, South America. Finally I can share the news!”

“Leaving Dempo SC was difficult because I loved my teammates and the chairman Mr. Dempo but the opportunity to play in S America was too good”

Besides his time in England, the former English youth international has played in six different countries – Canada, Hungary, Moldova, Germany, Republic of Ireland and India – but this will be his first stint in South America.

Club Deportivo Quevedo have been promoted to the top division in Ecuador, Serie A, having finished second in the 2012 Serie B and Ricketts further revealed on Twitter that the season there starts in 12 days.
