Goa Pro League: Salgaocar FC continue winning run, beat Wilred Leisure 3-0

Defending champions Salgaocar FC continued their unbeaten run with a 3-0 victory against Wilred Leisure SC at the Duler ground in Mapusa, yesterday afternoon. The goals for the Green Brigade came from Aslon Oliveira and a double strike on debut by Darryl Duffy.

Salgaocar FC now have 12 points from four matches to their name, having scored an impressive 20 goals and conceded none so far, while Wilred Leisure SC have only a point to their name from the same number of matches.

Youngster Aslon Oliveira gave Salgaocar a 12th minute lead off a Clifton Dias pass and just seven minutes later, they could have doubled the lead as Marcus Mascarenhas was brought down by Benzu Clemente, but Milagres Gonsalves’s penalty hit the post and didn’t go in. Salgaocar once more before the break hit the woodwork, this time it was Marcus Mascarenhas.

Wilred Leisure had their best chance after the break on the hour mark, as experienced Jerose Oliveira headed the ball just wide. Thereafter, Scotsman Darryl Alexander Duffy made his Salgaocar debut and towards the end of the match it turned out to be a memorable one as he first scored off a pass from Brian Mascarenhas and then Salgaocar got their second penalty of the day after Bonny Niasso brought down Nicolao Colaco and Darryl slotted home for his second as Salgaocar won 3-0.
