In a relegation round match of the Abhishek Motors RG Baruah Guwahati Sports Association Super Division Football League, Food Corporation of India (FCI) defeated Assam State Electricity Board SC 1-0 to earn full points.
After this win FCI’s hopes of staying in the top division are still alive. This defeat will not affect the ASEB as they are almost safe.
In the first half of the match, the ball remained in mid field only as both teams showed no urgency to score.
But in the second half, both the teams played aggressively to find a goal. And in the 48th minute of the match, FCI’s defender Akan Khaklary’s header found the back of the net to give his side an all important lead. After conceding the goal, ASEB tried their best to move forward but all their attacks were thwarted by the FCI defensive line.

Dynamo Club, Guwahati overcame Madhya Pradesh United FC 5-2 in the quarter final clash of the All India Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament organised by the Golaghat District Sports Association of Assam. Dynamo dominated the entire match and beat the Madhya Pradesh side comprehensively as Dynamo’s Somnath Chakrabaty scored a hat-trick.
