TRAU FC registered their first win of the season

Tiddim Road Athletic Union Football Club (TRAU FC) claimed honors with the help of a single game against Langsning FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Monday evening. The visitors scripted their maiden victory in the battle for supremacy in the North-Eastern region.

TRAU FC started the game on a positive note and had an opportunity to take the lead on the quarter hour mark, but Reisangmei Vashum’s header was not on target. On the other hand, the hosts also got a chance seven minutes later, but TRAU FC defended well to keep the scores even.

Nelson Kom finally scored for the visitors just a minute before the half-time mark. His precise header struck the crossbar and made its way to into the target. Although Langsning FC tried hard to get one back, they never managed to penetrate through TRAU FC’s defence.

The hosts had a great chance to equalise, when a free-kick was taken by Brolington Warlarpih nearly made it to the target but a fine defensive work by the opponent team averted the danger. TRAU FC firmly held on to the lead to secure a win.

Langsning FC still has 4 points in their kitty by virtue of a win against Channayin FC reserves and a draw with Bengaluru FC reserves earlier in the league. TRAU FC registered their first win of the season and has collected 4 points till now.

TRAU FC will face Mohammedan Sporting Club in their next tie on April 5. On the other hand, Langsning FC will travel to Jharkhand to play a vital away tie against Jamshedpur FC. On the next match day, Delhi Dynamos FC reserves will face off with Pune City FC reserves while Real Kashmir will host Lonestar Kashmir Club in an all-Kashmir clash.
