India goalkeeper Karanjit Singh has decided to extend his stay with Goan club Salgaocar after rejecting offers from East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Prayag United, Dempo and Pune FC. Karanjit was undoubtedly the best goalkeeper of the 2010-11 and 2011-12 I-League campaigns, winning the title in the first of those two seasons.

Salgaocar have underperformed in the 2012-13 I-League but Karanjit has enjoyed another consistent season this time also, keeping nine clean sheets and thus was a transfer target of several clubs.

But the former JCT goalkeeper has decided to remain with the Goan outfit and is aiming for further success.

“I am very happy at Salgaocar and thus want to extend my contract with them. I have won the I-League and Federation Cup already here and looking forward to win more trophies with them,” Karanjit told Sportskeeda.

With club legend Derrick Pereira also confirmed as their head coach for next season, two-time Indian champions Salgaocar will be delighted to see their most consistent player of the last three campaigns commit his future to the club.
