Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas has ruled out his transfer from FC Porto to the Major League Soccer (MLS) in America, confirming his intention to stay with the Portuguese side.
In a video posted on social networks on Thursday, the Spanish goalkeeper noted that he is happy at Porto and will not be moving to Miami.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper acknowledged that this season was not good for Porto, as his side is third in the Portuguese league standings and was eliminated from all European competitions.
However, Casillas exuded confidence that Porto's results will be better next season.
Speaking to AS he said, “'I'm not going to Miami. I'm very happy here, everyone has really welcomed me.”
“Obviously I would have liked to have played in all competitions [Casillas was not used in the domestic cups], but rotation is important for everyone. The team has changed several players.”

There was speculation that he would follow the likes of Steven Gerrard, David Villa and other big name stars to MLS but he has decided to stay at the Portuguese club. Casillas famously wept during his final press conference after it was announced he was leaving Real Madrid.
The keeper spent 16 seasons at Real Madrid winning 3 Champions Leagues,5 La Liga titles and two Copa Del Reys. There was criticism from the public towards the Madrid administration as to how they handled Casillas’ exit last year.
The veteran is most likely to be part of the Spanish National team that will travel to the Euros but faces tough competition from David De Gea for a place in the starting XI
