The Indian football team jersey was launched by Nike, as promised, ahead of next month's FIFA U-17 World Cup. However, the stiff pricing managed to evoke a series of reactions across Twitter after the launch.Nike have priced the jersey at Rs 4,695, which rounds up to nearly Rs 5,500 once you add the tax and the shipment charges. Even some of the European football team jerseys are cheaper than that!It is safe to say that the exorbitant pricing by the international sports goods manufacturing company, probably in conjunction with the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF), hasn't been taken well by the Indian fans.Given that India is a not-so-healthy country in monetary terms, there seems to be some ignorance in Nike's approach. Possibly, the jerseys could have been made more affordable for the common people. Here is how Twitter reacted to paying ?5,500 for a ‘baniyan with border’:I can understand why the iPhoneX costs a lakh in India. What I can't understand is why the Indian football jersey costs Rs 4695.
