After playing top teams like USA and Norway in Spain, the Indian U16 team is set to travel to Serbia on an exposure tour, where they will face the hosts, along with the Jordan and Tajikistan U16 teams.

The India U16 team has already had a number of good outings, as they dominated the likes of Hong Kong, Singapore and the Chinese Taipei in Hong Kong, earlier this year.

To add to that, they also had a couple of exposure tours in Spain, where they faced the junior sides of a number of clubs from across Europe. They further followed that up with another tour in Benicasim, where they faced USA and Norway. However, this last tour did not go as well as the previous ones, as India lost to USA and drew against Poland.

Now, the Indian team is set to travel to Serbia in May, as part of their preparations for the AFC U16 Championships, which get underway in September, in Malaysia.

The Blue Colts have been drawn in a difficult group in the AFC championship, where they are set to square off against Asian giants Iran, Vietnam and Indonesia.

The AIFF had earlier made plans for further tours in China and Indonesia as well, ahead of the continental competition. However, they are reportedly not keen on the Indonesia tour, as the Blue Colts will face Indonesia in the Group C clash. Meanwhile, the China tour also may not happen, which means that the AIFF will have to look for other countries to send the young players on exposure tours.

Meanwhile, the U16 squad, coached by Bibiano Fernandes, will be training with the Indian Arrows squad, when they are in India.
