Match 45 of the Hero Indian Super League saw Northeast United FC host defending champions ATK at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, Assam.

The two sides in the lower half of the table clashed as they aimed to get their season on the track. The home side was on the ninth spot in the ISL standings with 7 points from their eight matches. On the other hand, ATK started on the eight spot with 9 points from eight matches played.

ATK won the match away from their home as they grabbed the three points courtesy of a long-range goal from their Portuguese winger Zequinha. With this win, ATK move into the sixth spot with 12 points now from nine matches and Northeast United stay rooted to the eight spot with 9 points from nine matches now.

Rehenesh TP- 6.5/10

The Northeast United FC custodian was kept on his toes throughout the first half with ATK running riot on the home goal with their attacking moves. He had a close shave with Robin Singh at one point but managed to clear his lines.

Nirmal Chettri - 7/10

The Indian right-back was a stable presence in the defence and made some good runs behind the ATK defence as well. He was up against the creative ATK winger Zequinha and tried his best to keep him on a tight leash.

Sambinha - 7/10

The burly centre-back was a rock in theNEUFC defence as he kept the threat of Robin Singh and aerial balls in check.

Jose Goncalves - 7/10

The other half of the Northeast central defence, like his partner, was strong in the box and did not allow any of the ATK players to get comfortable on the ball.

Reagan Singh - 6/10

The former Mumbai FC man in the left-back position did well in the initial half an hour of the match. He was unfortunate to have picked up a groin strain and was substituted in the first half.

Rowllin Borges - 6.5/10

The India international midfielder played the defensive midfield role and provided cover to the home defence. Borges broke up a lot of plays in the midfield and moved the ball around well.

Martin Diaz - 6.5/10

Martin Diaz also played in a defensive role as Grant put two defensive midfielders to counter the ATK attacking threat. Diaz combined well with the defence and the attack with good passes that kickstarted the attack for Northeast United.

Malemngamba Meitei - 6/10

The young midfielder Metei played behind the home attack and did well to move the ball well around the park.

Marcinho - 7/10

The creative crux in the Northeast midfield, Marcinho, was at his usual best playing the facilitator for the home side in the midfield. He was on setpiece duties and played great through balls for Cezario in the attack.

Halicharan Narzary - 6.5/10

The India winger Halichan Narzary had a comparatively quiet game compared to his usual standards, as he was kept in check by Prabir Das.

Danilo Cezario - 7.5/10

The lone striker ahead for the home side was wasteful tonight with his chances on the field. He made a lot of good runs through the ATK defence but failed in front of the goal.

Robert Lalthlamuana - 6/10

The substitute left-back, who came on for Reagan Singh, had a tough night on the pitch as the ATK right-back Prabir Das kept him busy the entire duration of the match.

Sushil Meitei - 4.5/10

The youngster Sushil came on in place of Malemnganba Meitei in the final minutes of the match as Northeast United aimed to come back in the match.

Luis Alfonso - 4.5/10

Alonso came on for the final five minutes to have a shot at equalizing the game but did not have enough time to achieve that.

Debjit Majumder - 7.5/10

Debjit Majumder was solid in between the sticks for ATK as he made crucial saves whenever called into action. The former Mohun Bagan keeper kept a clean sheet after a gap of two matches as ATK won away from their home.

Prabir Das - 8/10

The right-back for the defending champions was a menace on the right flank as he was a constant trouble for the away side. He kept attacking the defence from the right, made a lot of overlapping runs and put in crucial crosses for the attackers in the box.

Jordi Figueras - 7.5/10

The Spaniard centre-back manned the defence for the away side and kept the threat of Danilo Cezario in check, barring a couple of chances. He combined well with Tom Thorpe in the defence and ensured the three points and a clean sheet for the ATK side.

Tom Thorpe - 7.5/10

The Manchester United academy graduate has been one of the best defenders in the ISL with his interceptive skills and physical presence in the box. He comes with the added threat of being a danger during setpieces and always is a point man for the providers.

Keegan Pereira - 7/10

The ATK left-back had a decent game on the night as he was busy at both ends of the pitch, attacking whenever ATK moved ahead and came back to help in the defence whenever needed.

Ryan Taylor - 7.5/10

The former Newcastle United midfielder played ahead today in the midfield after playing in the defence for the last couple of matches. He was on setpiece duty for the away side and helped the attack with great deliveries into the box.

Conor Thomas - 7/10

The defensive midfielder for the away side played the pivot role between the defence and attack for the ATK side. The Englishman broke up a lot of plays by winning possession in the middle of the park.

Jayesh Rane - 7.5/10

The former Chennaiyin FC man had an eventful night in the midfield for the Kolkata side as he operated in the centre behind the striker Robin Singh. He kept making good runs and even had a shot on goal that was blocked by the Northeast United defender.

Hitesh Sharma - 7/10

The former Mumbai FC midfielder played an active role in the midfield as he kept searching for through balls between the Northeast defenders. His movement in the attack was a threat for the home side.

Zequinha - 8.5/10

The Portuguese winger was a revelation on the pitch with his movement on the left flank. He never gave a moment of rest for Nirmal Chhetri and proved to be the match-winner with his stunner in the 73rd minute. He was adjudged the 'Hero of the Match' for his performance tonight.

Robin Singh - 7/10

The former FC Goa striker was the lone man ahead for the away side and kept the Northeast United FC central defenders on their toes with his physicality and movement in the box. He had a couple of chances of scoring but the keeper TP Rehenesh saved his efforts.

Substitutes:

Rupert Nongrum - 5/10

The young midfielder replaced Jayesh Rane for the final 10 minutes and did not have enough time to have a sizeable impact.

Shankar Sampingraj - 4.5/10

The defensive midfielder came on for the final minutes as coach Teddy Sheringham ran down the clock to ensure the lead for the away side.
