The ISL and I League are the two biggest football leagues in India. While the ISL is a relatively new league, I League has been present for over a decade now. The presence of two leagues gives the players in India the exposure to play against different clubs. It is often seen that players are transferred from ISL to the I League and vice versa to gain experience across the country. Here is a list of 5 stars who could make a move from I League to the ISL in the current transfer window -

5. Subhash Singh

The winger hails from Manipur and plays for Neroca FC in the I League. Subhash Singh has been one of Neroca's brightest sparks this season. To the surprise of everyone, Neroca FC have been flying high and currently sit at second place in the league table.

Singh proved his mettle yet again when he netted a brace against Indian Arrows yesterday. A goal from him in each half ensured a comfortable win for Neroca FC. He has previously played in the ISL for Mumbai City FC when he was on loan and a permanent move to ISL might be on the cards for him.

4. Ranti Martins

One of the most prolific players to ever play in the I League, Ranti Martins might be all set for a return to India to play in the ISL. Ranti Martins in his time was one of the best strikers in the I-League and won two National Football League, three I-League, and one Federation Cup titles with Dempo SC. He also played a couple seasons for East Bengal FC.

Martins is currently playing for the Eagles Maryland in the American Soccer League in the second tier of US football. He has been approached by North East United FC. NEUFC have been woeful in front of goal and could use a player like Martins to revive their season.

3. Chencho Gyeltshen

The 21 year old is already being named as the "Bhutanese Ronaldo" by many I League fans. Chencho Gyeltshen is the best Bhutanese player who plays in the I League - he plays for Minerva Punjab FC. He is affectionately nicknamed "CG7" because of his style of play. Chencho is a potential star and ISL clubs such as North East United and Delhi Dynamos, who have been struggling to score goals, could use his services.

Chencho has also played for the Bhutanese national team. He made his debut in 2011 and has gone to play for Bhutan 28 times, scoring 10 goals in the process. Chencho's mesmerising playmaking is one of the reasons why Minerva are at third position. It wont be surprising if an ISL club comes knocking at Minerva's doors pretty soon.

2. Mahmoud Al Amna

Mahmoud Al Amna hails from Aleppo, Syria and wears the number 6 shirt for Kolkata giants East Bengal FC. Amna has been one of East Bengal's most influential midfielders and has been instrumental for them since the beginning of the season. East Bengal currently sit at the top of the table after a fairly sluggish start.

Al Amna has been running the show for East Bengal and proved his worth in EBFC's last game against Indian Arrows. The Syrian broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a brilliant free kick. He was adjudged the man of the match and could be set for a move to the ISL very soon.

Sony Norde

Hailing from Haiti, Sony wears the number 10 shirt for Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan FC and has scored 2 goals for them so far. The rumours for Norde's move to the ISL started at the 2017 I League launch. Norde was quoted saying that he would not mind playing in the ISL and expressed interest to join an ISL Club next season.

Norde's move to an ISL club now looks much more likely given that Mohun Bagan FC coach Sanjoy Sen has resigned from the club. Sen and Norde had an excellent rapport with each other and Norde could be on his way out of the club in the January transfer window itself, if not in the summer.
