What's the story?

After an opening ceremony featuring actor Salman Khan on the first day of the ISL season, this time there is an air of uncertainty over an upcoming event featuring the superstar and involving a team in the league.

Salman is all set to host an entertainment event at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, which is scheduled to take place in December. However, a source close to the developments has confirmed to Sportskeeda that the Delhi Dynamos management has raised a few objections over the event as it may damage the newly-laid pitch.

The source added, "The stadium was handed out by the Sports Authority of India to the event management company. The Dynamos have raised their concerns but the event will go on as it is SAI who are in charge of the stadium and have given it out."

In case you didn't know

The ISL kicked off on the 17th of November with defending champions Atletico de Kolkata taking on runners-up Kerala Blasters. The Dynamos, who have played their home games at the JLN Stadium since the inception of the ISL, recorded a 3-2 win over FC Pune City in their first match.

The heart of the matter

Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), who are organizers of the ISL, raised the concerns along with the Dynamos but the SAI have stated that they will take the necessary precautions to avoid damage to the pitch.

SAI stated that no damage will be done to the turf and that thick slabs of synthetic material will be used to protect the playing surface,

What's next?

The Dynamos are set to play their opening two matches at the JLN stadium on December 2 and 6, with the third match after that coming on December 16.

Sportskeeda's Take

The Dynamos have every right to be concerned as it is their home pitch that will be affected by the event. But hopefully, the SAI promise of no pitch damage will hold true.
