Mumbai City FC picked up their first win of the ISL 2017 season as they defeated FC Goa 2-1, thanks to goals from Everton Santos and Thiago Santos in the second half. After suffering defeat in their opener against Bengaluru FC, the side from Mumbai bounced back to win their first points of the season while for FC Goa, it was their first loss after winning their season opener.

After a goalless first half, Everton Santos broke the deadlock with his first goal of the season. However, much of the blame for the goal must lie on the FC Goa goalkeeper and captain Laxmikant Kattimani, who made a horrendous error to gift Mumbai the goal.

The incident took place in the 59th minute as Kattimani took too much time to clear the ball from his own penalty area. The forward closed him down quickly and was successful in blocking the keeper's clearance, which went straight into the back of the net.

From the goal kick, Kattimani played the ball short to his defender Chinglensana Singh on the left side of the penalty area. The centre-back returned the ball to his keeper, who seemed to dwell on the ball for too much time and that too right in front of his own goal.

The Brazilian forward closed in on the goalie and was successful in his attempt, thus giving his side the lead. For Kattimani, it was another howler that he would want to forget after he had earlier conceded a soft goal in the match against Chennaiyin FC last week.
