Kerala Blasters star Wes Brown and his family spent the festive period with children at an orphanage at Kammatipadam at Kochi. The visit was a part of the charity work that the former Manchester United ace defende has been involved in.

The family of the Kerala Blasters defender Wes Brown was in Kochi to celebrate Christmas and New Year, along with his wife Leanne Wassell, a prominent TV anchor and their three daughters were in the town for the festive period.

The heart of the matter

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown visited the Shanti Bhavan orphanage at Kammatipadam at Kochi along with his Wife Leanne and three daughters Halle, Lilia and Lola. The girls at the orphanage welcomed the family in the traditional Kerala manner.

Brown and family lit the lamp to start his charity programme. The girls shared their experience with Brown and his family. Various cultural programmes where conducted by the girls of the orphanage.

"Everyone here has been tremendous and the kids here are all smiling and having fun. They probably have been through hell in the past and it’s something like this where they can get help and share their stories with various people is great", said Brown.

Wes Brown's wife Leanne said that the visit was all about women empowerment and helping the children.

Wes Brown has been doing charity work in the past and in his first season in Kochi, he is winning the hearts of people in the city with his kind gesture. This is a new culture that is been brought into Indian football and let us hope that more players follow the path of the former Manchester United defender in helping the people who need it.
