ISL 2017: Top 5 foreign signings who have scored the most number of international goals
The Indian Super League has, over the years, seen myriad foreign players. Among them have been legendary goal getters like Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Diego Forlan. This season as well, ISL clubs have roped in quite a few famous names, particularly Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov, legends of the Premier League and one-time teammates at Tottenham Hotspur.
Keane and Berbatov's career has gone separate ways since their Tottenham days ended - they now find themselves at ATK and Kerala Blasters respectively - but their reputations as goal scorers par excellence still precede them, hence their pricey moves to India this summer.
Alongside Berbatov and Keane, a few other strikers of international repute have also been signed by an assortment of ISL clubs. Ahead of the international break that started today all across the world, we take a look at five of the top international goal scorers that have been signed by ISL clubs this summer (goalscorers may not be strikers only).
#5 Gabriel Chichero - 4 goals in 70 matches for Venezuela
Chichero is Delhi Dynamos' big statement signing for the 2017-18 ISL. The Venezuelan is a regular for La Vinotinto having made 70 appearances for the national team. Chichero has played around the world from Italy, Argentina, USA, France, Switzerland, Uruguay and now is up for his next challenge in India.
Chichero, a centre back, might not have been fancied to feature here but Sunil Chhetri would definitely have made this list if it wasn't exclusive to foreign signings only.
