The Cameroonian striker started his career in 2006 with the French second division club Sochaux-Montbeliard, scoring six goals in 13 appearances across two seasons. He then played for three French clubs in the next four years - Jura Sud, Pacy-sur-Eure and Ligue 2 side, LB Chateauroux, scoring 31 goals in 119 appearances across four seasons. He then moved to another French club, Creteil (on loan in 2012) who signed him permanently after an impressive loan spell. He scored eight goals in 62 appearances for Creteil across two seasons before moving to the Romanian top division club, FC Dinamo Bucuresti in 2015.

He played just one season (2015-16) for the Romanian club in which they finished as the runners-up in the domestic cup with him scoring 7 goals in 23 appearances. After his stint in Romania, he moved to Ratchaburi Mitr Phol - a Thailand top division club in 2017. Essombe was unstoppable for the Thai club last season (2017-18), scoring 19 goals and providing two assists in 31 league appearances.

He has got 45 goals and 12 assists to his name (in 175 matches) in his career so far. The centre-forward whose contract runs out on June 30, 2018 is a very lethal player with his pace and goal-scoring abilities and he has proved that time and again during his stints with various clubs. Essombe can be deadly in front of goal for the Blasters if they manage to secure the services of the Cameroonian.
