The Columbian forward first appeared in the 2014 season of the ISL, where he was a part of the Chennaiyin FC team. He scored 4 goals from 9 games in his debut season, however, it was in the next season that Mendoza left his mark on the ISL. He scored 13 goals from 16 games and recorded 3 assists, ending the season with an impressive 0.81 goals per game ratio, taking Chennaiyin FC straight to the ISL Trophy. However, Mendoza has not featured in the ISL since 2015.

Mendoza started his professional career at Columbian club Envigado and has also played for Brazilian side Corinthians. After the 2015 edition of ISL, where he played on loan for Chennaiyin FC, the Columbian spent a season at MLS side New York City, also on loan. Here, he scored 5 goals from 25 games. In 2017, he joined Brazilian side Bahia, playing 31 games and scoring 8 goals. In January 2018, Mendoza joined Ligue 1 side Amiens on a 3 year deal. He has scored 2 goals from 13 appearances in the Ligue 1 last season.
As of now, there have not been any reports of Mendoza joining Chennaiyin FC for the current edition of the ISL and it seems that he will not be adding to his goal scoring tally this season.

Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
