The players of the Indian Super League’s Kerala Blasters wore the State’s traditional attire, the ‘dhoti’ at the unveiling of the team’s logo, and showed off their skills with the dhoti on.

The logo of the team co-owned by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Prasad Potluri takes its inspiration frome marquee player the the culture of Kerala, as an Elephant is shown cradling a football within its trunk.

The team was present at the occasion, and were dressed in yellow t-shirts and crisp dhotis. The Kerala Blasters have reputed players such as David James, who is the marquee player-cum-manager, and played 55 times for England and Michael Chopra.

Giving his opinion on the jersey, "The logo reflects the cultural and sporting legacy of Kerala symbolized by the elephant. The elephant is a symbol of strength and pride, rooted in its family and community, reflecting the aspiration and spirit of Kerala Blasters", said Prasad Potluri, co-owner of Kerala Blasters.

The logo has been designed by Brash brands, who said it was chosen after extensive research on the world’s best football clubs. John Brash of Brash Brands said, "Using the state animal, the elephant, as the starting point, we built an identity around it, reflecting its prominence in Kerala's culture.”
