Adidas loves to come out with different boots for their wonder boy, Lionel Messi, and they have again gone out of their way to come up with a special pair of boots for the Argentinian wizard on his 27th birthday.The boots were worn by him for a single day in training for the Argentinian camp during the World Cup.

The pair is a modulation of Messi’s current pair of adizero f50 Battle Pack boots and also bears resemblance to Messi’s previous Samba F50 boots. The Battle Pack boots feature the colour of Argentina and have a Dribbletex feature for dribbling in all weather conditions. They also bear the iconinc “M” logo on the centre of the heel and have “Una Nacion” (One Nation) etched on the black insole. Also, every other Adidas 2014 World Cup boot features the number 14. Messi’s boot is the only one which features the number 10. It also comes with a Hybridtouch feature which takes 4 times longer than traditional leather to absorb the same quantity of water.

Retaining these key features of the Battle Pack edition, Messi’s birthday boots have a slight disadvantage of being extremely blingy for professional use. This may be the cause for him returning to his usual Battle Pack f50 boots for Argentina’s final group stage match against Nigeria on Wednesday after guiding them to a win over Iran.

Only 27 pairs of these special edition boots have been produced by Adidas, two of which are being signed and given away by Messi’s twitter handle, #TeamMessi.

With the tournament being held in South America and the fact that he is at the peak of his career, many experts are predicting him to do a Maradona and guide Argentina to the title.
