Lotto Zhero Gravity VII

You’re not mistaken, it is true. The Zhero Gravity is back with another edition. The Italian sports manufacturer has released the seventh generation of their popular football boot, Lotto Zhero Gravity VII.

The original Zhero Gravity was the first football boot to feature the lace less design. The tradition continued with the coming generations until the present release. Yes, the seventh generation is not a lace less design (this might disappoint a few). These are the first Zhero Gravity boots to feature laces since 2002.

The Zhero Gravity is specifically designed for speed and accuracy. It is primarily made for forwards. Zhero Gravity VII introduces a stunning new design and features Lotto’s iconic colors of black and green. Few refer to this design as ‘birds nest.’

It features a one piece upper which is made from a single-piece Kurim foot shell. Not only that, it is combined with a supportive mesh fabric all over the boot. This should improve the overall foot support across the boot. There is a decrease in overall weight of the football cleat and should offer an improved response, better power and ball touch.

It introduces an elevated foot support and a better heel insert which ensures that the force of impact is dispersed uniformly. It also features anatomical and removable EVA insole. This design is very similar to Nike’s Mercurial Vapor IX.

The sole is made of Nylon PA12 which is extremely light. To improve the durability, it is sewn to the upper. The outsole will feature Lotto’s new PuntoFlex technology. This technology allows proper bending of the foot and thereby increases player comfort. Both conical and triangular studs are seen on the outsole for improved traction on surfaces.

It will be available in three versions and these include an FG version. SG mix and SG for heavy soils.

FG (firm ground) will feature 12 non-removable TPU studs on the outsole while the SG mix features 6 fixed studs made TPU and 6 interchangeable polycarbonate studs. The SG for heavy soils will feature 6 polycarbonate studs.

Professionally is worn by Sevilla’s Coke and Udinese’s Danilo.

It is priced at around €130 i.e. around 10,000 INR and is only available for pre-order at the moment. Availability in India is TBA.

Bottom-line: The laces are back with the Zhero Gravity VII.
