The footballing world waited with bated breaths before the start of the current season when the Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic was left without a club after PSG decided not to renew his contract with the club. While many argued that despite the player scoring goals for fun in France, he was way beyond his best and at the most could be a squad player for a big club going forward, some felt that the player still could inflict damage on the opposition like few in the world and hoped that they could see him don the shirt of their beloved clubs.

With the player’s charisma, it did not come as a surprise that a move to the USA was believed to be on the cards as the MLS has established itself as a chosen destination for superstars approaching the end of their glorious careers.

While that was not to be as Ibrahimovic chose to reunite with his former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, the Swede has now conceded that a move to the USA still excites him and after his time at the Old Trafford is over, he could move to the country to conquer the League like he has in the past.

Speaking to Aftonbladet, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying “It's a huge option for me. For the football and everything else. I can see myself conquering the U.S. as I have with Europe. Lots of people stay in one place throughout their career, but I've travelled around like Napoleon, and conquered every new country where I've sat foot. So perhaps I should do what Napoleon didn't and cross the Atlantic and conquer the States as well.”

The player also added that his decision to join the Old Trafford club was made easy when his former boss Jose Mourinho sought his services as a player. While he did acknowledge that Manchester United still had a lot of areas to improve in, he also claimed that he is a fighter and does not shy away from challenges presented to him.

“The team I signed for this summer is not as strong as the one I left, but when Mourinho called the decision was easy. When he calls I have no problem coming, all we had to decide was when I was to be presented as Man U player. The rest, the financial deal, was not the difficult part.It was about the challenge really, and I will never say no to a challenge. This is what I wanted; coming to one of the world's biggest clubs, that has had troubles and not won much of late, and try the Premier League. That is the challenge."

The player, who is on a year-long contract at Manchester United, with an option to extend it by another year began the season on a sound note, helping his side pick up 3 consecutive league wins. However, the player has subsequently endured a tough time on the pitch as he has found goals harder to come by and has also been found guilty of floundering easy goal scoring opportunities to help his side reverse their poor form.

However, with the season still relatively young, Ibrahimovic will be keen to help his side improve their current league position and also help them lift them at least one silverware in the current season.
