Nirmal Chettri and Godwin Franco arrive in Germany for Fortuna Dusseldorf trials

Indian international defender and IMG-Reliance contracted Nirmal Chettri as well as Dempo SC midfielder Godwin Franco arrived in Germany on Tuesday, November 12 for their week long trials with German 2.Bundesliga (second division) side Fortuna Dusseldorf, which is set to start tomorrow morning at 9.30am German time.

Godwin Franco was the first to arrive on an Etihad/Air Berlin flight from Goa via Mumbai and Abu Dhabi just after midday and then Nirmal Chettri arrived in the evening from Kolkata via Dubai in Dusseldorf on an Emirates flight.

The players are looking forward to the trial and the opportunity that it is for them to show themselves to a German 2.Bundesliga club, while also wanting to see and learn about professional football in Europe.

Both Nirmal and Godwin went to sleep early to adjust to the German time (four-and-a-half hours behind India) and they have a long day ahead of them with two training sessions and a fitness test at Fortuna Dusseldorf.
