NorthEast United FC sign Cedric Hengbart from Kerala Blaster FC for second ISL season

Cedric Hengbart has changed his allegiance from Kerala to the NortEast for the second edition of the ISL

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the price signing of French centre-back Cedric Hengbart, who last season had played for the Kerala Blasters FC in the inaugural ISL season. 34-year-old Falaise-born Cedric Hengbart had been a key player for the Kerala Blasters in their campaign last season in which the team from south India reached the final.

Hengbart was one of the standout defenders in the ISL - season one, so it did come as a surprise to the Blasters fans that he was not re-signed by the franchise.

On Twitter Cedric Hengbart said about leaving the Kerala Blasters, "Sorry for all fans. I will not be blasters next year. Thanks for all. It was a fabulous season. Never forgot you. Blasters in my heart."

Hengbart joins NorthEast United FC after spending the last six month with his former club AC Ajaccio, a Ligue 2 club in France. He had started his youth career with USON Mondeville and later on played for SM Caen and AJ Auxerre before joining AC Ajaccio.
