Paul Scholes has signed on to be a part of the Premier Futsal League

Legendary Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes will be part of the Premier Futsal League in India, with the league officially announcing him as their second marquee signing earlier today. The Englishman will join former Portugal international Deco, who played for European giants Barcelona and Chelsea during his decorated career, as the two marquee signings of the league so far.

Scholes, who made 718 appearances for Manchester United during a career that spanned 18 years, is the most decorated English player of all-time, having won 25 trophies during his career, including 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies with United. He also scored 155 goals for the club during his time with them.

The “Ginger Prince” has been lauded as one of the best midfielders of his generation, with many calling him the best English midfielder, and is known for his range of passing and scoring brilliant long-rangers.

He adds to the hype around the Premier Futsal League, who had already roped in Deco to be their first marquee signing. The former Barcelona and Chelsea attacking midfielder was part of Porto's historic Champions League winning run in 2004 and was a leading member of the Portuguese side that reached the finals of Euro 2004.

The Premier Futsal League has big names associated with it, with Real Madrid and Portugal legend Luis Figo the President and Indian Cricket Team star, Virat Kohli, the brand ambassador of the event. The league has also signed the Pele of futsal, Falcao, to play in the league and is sure to grab a lot of attention in the coming months.

Having recently concluded their launchpad, an event where trials were held across 8 cities in India to select the best talent to be part of the 8 franchises, the League will now look to finalise the rosters, to ensure the best talent get a proper platform to showcase their skills.
