Renovated Duler Ground in Goa to be inaugurated on December 20

The Goa Football Association owned Duler Ground in Mapusa has been undergoing renovation work for quite some time and it will be officially inaugurated on Thursday, December 20 with the work on turf, stands and around the ground finished. The Duler ground now can be used all year through, especially in the monsoons, as it now sports a FIFA sponsored artificial turf under the ‘Win in India with India’ campaign of the world football governing body; but the GFA has also build a proper mainstand with roofing for the spectators.

With the Duler ground now available all year through it gives the Goa Football Association a fall back option when other grounds are not available or pitches are unplayable due to bad condition.

But the work isn’t over yet as further expansion of the ground is being prepared with land given to the GFA by the Government of Goa to make Duler ground into a full-fledged football arena.

The inauguration will witness an exhibition match between the GFA XI (Executive Members) and Goa MLAs XI.
