Indian Romeo Fernandes called up to Atletico Paranaense first team

Romeo Fernandes was called up to the Atletico Paranaense first team for the first time ever for the game against Nacional on Saturday. It will be their last game in the Brazilian Campeonato Paranaense this season.

The first round of games ended on March 29th and Atletico Paranense was one of the 4 teams that were moved to the relegation rounds.

They currently sit at first place in the relegation round table with 10 points from 5 games with one game remaining, and they have already sealed their stay in the Paranaense 1 league for next year as they have 5 points more than Rio Branco who are in third place.

Atletico Paranaense posted on their Facebook page that he has been called up to the first team for the Nacional game on Saturday.

The game will be available to watch live on http://premierefc.globo.com/ at 6:30 pm (Brazil local time).

If Romeo makes his debut in this game, the 22-year old will make history as the first Indian player to have played for a Brazilian club. Romeo Fernandes is currently on loan at Atletico Paranense from I-League club Dempo.
