Nepal enter the final after beating Bangladesh 5-1 in the first semi-final of the ongoing South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U16 football championship being played at Dasarath Stadium, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Sujan Limbu scored in the 8th minute of the match after the shot by Bimal Gharti Magar rebounded from the bar to make it 1-0 for Nepal. Bimal Gharti Magar double the score for Nepal in the 20th minute with superb free kick while Anjan Bista Scored in the 23rd minute to make 3-0 for Nepal. Going to the lemon break, Nepal were 3-0 up.

After the break, Bangladesh player Atikuzamman scored an own goal to make it 4-0 to Nepal and Sujan Limbu scored in the 59th minute to make 5-0 for Nepal. Bangladesh scored a consolidation goal in the 65th minute. The full time score read 5-1.

Nepal will face the winner of the second semi-final between Afghanistan and India. Nepal came third in the first edition of the tournament defeating Bangladesh 2-1. India were the runners up of the previous championship while the defending champions Pakistan were already out of the group stage of the championship.

Seven countries of South Asia, excluding Maldives, are participating in the 2nd edition of the SAFF U16 Football Championship held in Nepali capital, Kathmandu.
