Schoolboy from Navi Mumbai, Harshal Karle gets a dream football scholarship in UK

Harshal Karle, a Navi Mumbai student of St. Augustine’s High School and hailing from the Western Maharashtra town of Sangli, has landed a one-year scholarship worth Rs. 23.5 lakhs for a football training programme in United Kingdom.

Harshal plays as a striker for his school and had also captained the Maharashtra U13 team which participated in the AIFF Football Festival for Boys last year in Kalyani, West Bengal.

Last year, in the final of the Maharasthtra DSO Boys U14 football tournament, Harshal scored a goal to help his team win 3-1.

Earlier in the same tournament, in the pre-quarters, Harshal scored a hat-trick to propel St. Augustine’s to a 4-0 win over DAV Public School. Later, Karle also starred in the 3-0 win in the quarterfinal by scoring a brace and 3-0 win in the semis by grabbing a hat-trick.

The scholarship for the UK training stint, where he’ll be trained by EPL coaches at the Brookhouse Academy, is sponsored by the Ryan International Group in association with Sport Espirit Academy.
