What's the story?

Bhopal based Ishan Sahi has scripted history by signing up for Palamos CF, a 4th tier Spanish club. After having left his studies in class 11, he decided to follow football on a full-time basis and that determination has finally paid off for the youngster.

In case you didn't know...

Palamos CF is the third oldest Spanish football club, thus being an extraordinary feat for the Indian youngster. He had travelled to Spain last year to play at an academy before he was signed on by the club.

The heart of the matter

Hailing from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, this is a proud moment for the youngster, who has made headlines ever since. He is also the first player from Madhya Pradesh to make a debut on foreign turf. Tweets flowed in congratulating the youngster on his achievement as well.

Ishan played as a forward in his first match for the Spanish club and impressed everyone with his skills.

Sahi was also said to have been a part of the U-19 I-League from Delhi and was the highest scorer of the season last year. Interestingly, Ishan also played for Liverpool-run academy DSK Shivajians in Pune after he was selected.

The fact that Ishan is the first youngster to be signed from Madhya Pradesh was also confirmed by Amit Dev, the secretary of the Madhya Pradesh football association.

What's next?

Ishan Sahi has followed in the footsteps of another youngster Luv Kapoor, who was also signed by Palamos CF and it will be interesting to see how the young lads adapt to the Spanish grounds.

Author's take

The second Indian signing by a high league European club is something to be proud of and will also help in paving the way for many other Indian footballers to come into the limelight and showcase their talent.
