Days after quitting as MP and leaving the Trinamool Congress, Srinjoy Bose on Monday stepped down from the post of assistant general secretary of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club too.

In a letter to general secretary Anjan Mitra, Bose has reportedly stated his wish to quit from his post and will continue being only a member of the club.

“The letter will be brought up in the executive committee meeting and then it will be decided whether we will accept his resignation,” Mitra told IANS over phone.

Bose had spent 75 days in police and jail custody after his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

Bose has been a member of the club since his childhood and his father Swapan Sadhan Bose was the president of Mohun Bagan but had quit recently after the clubs debacle in the Federation Cup.
