TAL Bangalore: On Fire (Gameweek 6 Division 4)

Bruce Mabengo leads the candidates in this week’s On Fire

Bruce Mabengo (Simba Sports FC)

Bruce Mabengo is one of the leading candidates for the MVP award and is the second time he is featuring on this list. The ‘Brain’ of the team, he is largely responsible for connecting defence to attack and boy does he do it well.

His 3 assists and 3 goals don’t do any justice to his actual contribution to the game. He is a very composed character on and off the pitch, something that is essential while leading a team. Manager Joe Lubala has his work cut out thanks to Bruce managing things on the pitch.

Ibrahim Kanote (Bangalore City FC B)

As calm and composed as they come, Ibrahim is the backbone of Bangalore City’s defence line. Although he ended up experiencing his first loss as a BCFC player when they lost to Kammanhattan in GW 6, he was the best player on the pitch.

He cannot only defend but when required can bring the ball up and create chances as we saw in GW 6. He has accurate long-range passing while his sense of positioning is unmatched in the division. All in all, he is perfect captain material who can egg his side on to victories.

Danny Khumlo (Dragons AFC)

The Dragons captain has had a change in role and since he took over as the goalkeeper, his side have kept three clean sheets in a row while winning all those games. A couple more wins and Dragons will be up there challenging for a promotion spot.

A big reason for the change in form has been the management and captaincy by Danny. Apart from his on-field contributions he also controls the game day strategy and recruiting, making him an all-round asset to his team. When needed he is willing to step up.

Sai Mahesh (The Aces)

Sai Mahesh has been The Aces’s best player so far and his contributions have come in the form of goals and assists. The Aces have had a recent change in form for the good and this can be contributed to his form and the partnership with captain Hemanth A, both of whom have also had a big impact on the team.

Sai plays on the wing and can carry the ball but also has an eye for a pass along with a good shot on him. The Aces have scored more goals recently, thanks to their attacking mentality with Sai Mahesh having scored 6 for the season so far, which puts him on the list of top 5 Goal scorers in the division.

Ezekiel O (Kammanhattan All Stars)

A late transfer from Oldmans Park, it has become clear why manager Nitin Baros wanted the slick winger in his side. His hold up play is brilliant while he can also link up with midfielder by dropping deep.

Along with these, he also possesses an eye for goal as evident from his winner against Bangalore City FC B. He hasn’t scored too many goals this season as he did last time for Oldmans Park but his contributions on the pitch showcase his vast array of talent.
