TAL Delhi Crystal Ball: Gameweek 5 Season 2

Can Ultimate FC cause an upset against Storm FC?

The season is reaching its midway point and the contenders are pulling away from the pretenders. This season though has been highly competitive and we expect at least four teams to be involved in the title race, which should go down to the wire.

8:30 AM – Sen Q v Highflyers FC

The opening match of GW 5 sees Sen Q taking on Highflyers FC. Sen Q fell out of the top three after losing to direct promotion rivals Phoenix FC in GW 4. Highflyers are yet to pick up a win but their performances have been promising, barring their 4–0 loss to Kickers in GW 4.

Both teams are defensive minded and we expect a low-scoring match to start things off. Highflyers are due a win and we have a feeling this is the week for that to happen.

Crystal Ball: Sen Q (0) – (1) Highflyers FC

9:45 AM – Storm Youth v Phoenix FC

The second game of the day has Storm Youth taking on Phoenix FC. Storm Youth have lost both their games so far but have a considerable pool of talent to change things around. Phoenix currently sit in third and the title still remains in sight but they can’t afford to drop any more points.

Fulgence Kouame has been in top form for Phoenix and if Storm Youth figure out a way to stop him, they might have a chance. We expect Storm Youth to come in with a strong tactical game plan to counter Phoenix’s attacking strengths but Phoenix do go in as favourites.

Crystal Ball: Storm Youth (1) – (2) Phoenix FC

11:00 AM – Panthers FC v Dwarka FC

The third game of the day has Panthers taking on league leaders Dwarka FC. Panthers were miserable in their previous outing against Wishwakings conceding 7 goals and will be looking to change things around but they come up against in-form Dwarka who haven’t dropped any points yet.

Dwarka won a close encounter against title rivals Storm FC in GW 4 to maintain their hold on the top spot but in a division where things are extremely close amongst rivals, a slip up at any point could prove very costly.

2:30 PM – Q Squad v Delhi Student FC

The afternoon session begins with Q Squad taking on Delhi Student FC. Q Squad have only dropped points once in 4 games – on opening day against Highflyers – but if they are to keep pace with Dwarka they need to bring their ‘A’ game every week.

Delhi Student FC have been unlucky not to have come away with more than 3 points in 4 games but their win last week could possibly have changed everything. We expect DSFC to throw up a surprise here but Q Squad with their full strength team should get the job done.

Crystal Ball: Q Squad (2) – (2) Delhi Student FC

3:45 PM – Storm FC v Ultimate FC

The penultimate game of the day has Storm FC taking on Ultimate FC. Storm FC have lost their way a bit and after losing to Dwarka FC in GW 4, their shot at the title seems to be an outside one.

Ultimate FC have lost both their games so far but their performance against Q Squad in GW 4 showed their commitment. We expect Storm to come out the gates flying, so this result hinges on the tactical defensive nous of Ultimate FC.

Crystal Ball: Storm FC (2) – (0) Ultimate FC

5:00 PM – FC Kickers v Wishwakings

The final game of the day has Kickers taking on Wishwakings. Kickers started their campaign with a blistering 4-0 win over Highflyers and will be hoping to continue in that vein but they come up against an in form Wishwakings who scored 7 last time around against Panthers.

This is definitely the match of the day and we expect the goals to pour in. Both teams like to attack and the team that draws first blood should hold a considerable advantage.

Crystal Ball: FC Kickers (3) – (3) Wishwakings
