TAL Delhi Crystal Ball: Gameweek 9 Season 2

FC Dwarka need to get back to winning ways if they are to stay in the title race

GW 9 action is split across two days with games happening on both May 13 and May 14. Q Squad lead the pack albeit only on goal difference from FC Dwarka who are tied on points with them. Wishwakings, Phoenix and Storm are in a battle for third while Kickers have an outside shot at a top three finish but need to win the rest of their games.

7:30 AM - Highflyers FC v Phoenix FC

Highflyers and Phoenix kick things off in GW 9. Highflyers are coming off a big win against Ultimate last week and will want to build on that form. Phoenix are in hot pursuit of Wishwakings for third place and need to win from here on out to keep the pressure on their rivals. Phoenix play an open attacking game while Highflyers tend to play a more compact game. If Phoenix are not able to break down the Highflyers’ defence in the first half, they could be in trouble.

Crystal Ball: Highflyers FC (0) – (0) Phoenix FC

8:45 AM - FC Kickers v Panthers FC

The second game of the day has FC Kickers taking on Panthers FC. Kickers have put in some solid performances over the past few weeks but have ended up with more draws than they would like. Panthers have had a roller coaster season so far and currently occupy a mid-table position. The teams have a differing style of play with Kickers more determined to use the width of the pitch and the guile of their forwards in the box while Panthers play a free flowing direct game. We expect this match have goals aplenty.

Crystal Ball: FC Kickers (3) – (2) Panthers FC

10:00 AM - Ultimate FC v Delhi Student FC

The final game for Saturday has Ultimate FC taking on Delhi Student FC. Ultimate FC are yet to pick up points this season and their fellow strugglers would be ideal to take points from. Delhi Student FC have flattered to deceive for most of the season and haven’t been able to build any momentum this season. Both teams will be aching for all three points so expect this to be an open attacking match with both of them coming out of the gates guns blazing. Although DSFC go in as slight favourites, we sniff Ultimate’s first points this week.

3:00 PM – Storm FC v Panthers FC

Storm and Panthers start things off in the afternoon on Sunday. Storm are currently chasing a top three spot and will be expected to wrap things up in this encounter but Panthers are a side who on their best day can oust anyone. Storm play possession based football and can score a few goals past their opponents on their given day and with Panthers’ defence pretty leaky, we expect just that to happen.

Crystal Ball: Storm FC (3) – (1) Panthers FC

4:15 PM – FC Dwarka v Storm Youth

Next up, title-chasing Dwarka take on Storm Youth. Dwarka played out a goalless draw last week to Kickers and paid the price for that with Q Squad overtaking them at the top of the table. They know any more complacency on their part and they could throw away the title so we expect them to be on their ‘A’ game. Storm Youth can cause an upset given the talent they have but the Dwarka’s experience might come into play here.

Crystal Ball: FC Dwarka (2) – (1) Storm Youth

5:30 PM – FC Kickers v Ultimate FC

The final game of the day has Kickers taking on Ultimate FC. Both teams will also be playing on Saturday, which means their results on the previous day might factor into their game. Kickers will go in favourites into this game but if Ultimate manage to win their Saturday encounter with DSFC their morale might be on a high as they seek to hunt for more points.
