United 4th Phase FC were rampant against Pegasus FC, scoring 10 goals past them in the opening game of the day. Pegasus did a good job in the first quarter of the game, holding off a potent United 4th attack but once the first goal was let in, the floodgates opened up and United scored at will.
Kripa Anand opened the scoring in the 21st minute and that was the only goal scored in the first half. Niranjan had a good game in goal for Pegasus in the first half and made some excellent saves.
The defence also helped in keeping out the opposition but once they started tiring, things went downhill. The second half saw nine goals being scored with the man in form Dauda Ahme picking up a brace. Man of the Match Kripa Anand scored a hattrick, as did his teammate Ashish Ashok. The other goal scorers were Akash and Shubham Gowda.
United 4th have tightened their grip on third place and are heading for promotion in their first try, but to finish the job they need to defeat Kammanhattan next week or hope Tornadoes lose. For Pegasus, this has been a season of learning and the players will hope to come back stronger.

The Aces (Raywanth Koushik 27’)
The Aces managed a slender win against Can-a-bees to make sure they won't end up in the red zone. A solitary goal by Raywanth Koushik in the first half was enough to see his side through. For Can-a-bees it was once again a story of not being able to convert the chances they were presented with, something they really need to work on for next season.
For Aces, Kapil Bhat was in excellent form in defence while Pratik Reddy connected the dots between defence and attack. Koushik was good in attack and deservedly scored the match winner.
For Can-a-bees, Charles Clinton was once again outstanding but his individual brilliance could not be turned into anything meaningful and they paid the price in the end. The first half was evenly matched and to be fair, Can-a-bees deserved the lead but their complacency saw the tide turn the other way when Koushik scored the only goal in the 27th minute.
The second half saw Aces tighten up their defence and Can-a-bees could not find a way through, eventually handing Aces the win. Aces hit a purple patch in the middle of the season but their lacklustre start sees them finish in the lower half of the table.
Can-a-bees need to strengthen their squad in multiple areas but the need for a good striker and defensive midfielder should be on the top of their wish list.

Rangers FC v Bangalore City FC B

A heated affair saw Bangalore City FC B run out winners in a lopsided game. Rangers were on the receiving end of two red cards, handing BCFC B a win on cruise control. Ron E opened the scoring for BCFC in the 8th minute and there was no looking back after that. BCFC got into their groove quickly and moved the ball along really well.
Romeo doubled his side’s lead in the 20th minute and BCFC made it three just before halftime and deservedly so. Ngarangam, playing his first game for them scored on debut. The star of the second half was Papi Keita; the lanky Malinese player scored a 5-minute hat trick to start proceeding in the second half and put the game out of Ranger’s hands.
The man in form, Worthem, also got on the score-sheet to inflict more pain on their opposition and finally, Abhishek Panchamiya scored the eighth and final goal with the last play of the game.
BCFC are currently in second and are a point off the leader Simba, which means only a win will help them lift the trophy. For Rangers, this has been an extremely disappointing season and they will need to revamp the whole squad if they are to move in the right direction.

Dragons AFC v Tornadoes FC

Dragons succumbed to Tornadoes late in the game and have now lost two games on the trot after an unbeaten stretch of five games. The teams were evenly matched throughout the game and the pendulum could have swung either way but in the end, Tornadoes picked up all three points to stay in the hunt for third place.
The first half was goalless between the sides and Dragons did well to keep the ever-improving Tornadoes attack at bay. Dragons have impressed in defence over the season and boast the best centre back pairing in the division along with the best goalkeeper as well.
So it was no surprise Tornadoes could not find a way through but Dragons would be ruing the wasted chances on their end. The goals flowed in late with the golden boot favourite Mohammed Kahleel opening the scoring in the 46th minute. Dragons were quick to respond and Skido pegged back the scores to level terms.
With only 8 minutes to go, a draw looked like the fairest result but Tornadoes had other ideas and Ankith Reddy found the winner with 5 minutes left to go and his team ended with the win. Both teams have bright futures and are up and coming teams who have a long way to go.
While Dragons will have to do with a mid table finish, Tornadoes have a shot at promotion on the final day.

Simba Sports FC v Brothers United

An entertaining nine-goal thriller ended in Simba’s favour with the league leaders ensuring their destiny lies in their own hands as they go into the final game of the season against rivals Bangalore City FC B. An open attacking game saw Olivier Lobo open the scoring early on in the 5th minute to hand Simba the lead.
Brothers, however, got back into the game after that and went toe-to-toe with a team way above their punching belt.
Shubham Agarwal levelled the scores in the 18th minute and Brothers even threatened to take the lead but Simba’s defence had enough in their arsenal to hold their opponents off. Brothers were the stronger side in the game until Verlain Mudisungu gave Simba the lead again in the 25th minute and Zuvundru Victor made it 3-1 just before halftime.
Brothers entered the second half with the same attacking mentality and were instantly rewarded with Sunil Belgaonkar pulling back one goal two minutes after the restart. With Brothers playing some of the best football they have all season, Simba looked nervous but the introduction of Emmanuel Foli into the game made the difference for them.
Foli scored two goals in a 5-minute span to take the game out of Brothers’ hands.
Brothers should be proud of their performance in this game and will be wondering where they would be in the standing stable if they had played like this all season long. Simba lead the table with a slender margin of one point but with the final week of games left they know a draw would see them lift the trophy.
