TAL Season 3: Division 2 Gameweek 8 Preview – TAL “Crystal Ball”

amateur league
Captain Zaib Sherief will look to lead his team into Division 1 as champions of the second division

TAL resumes after the winter break and with only 4 game weeks to go, we expect an exciting finish to the season. Al-Fateh look odds on for the title but FC Bengal and a couple of other teams are still in it, mathematically speaking. The race for promotion though looks likely to go down to the wire with only 3 points separating 2nd placed FC Bengal and 6th placed FCB Sparta.

8:00 AM – FCB Sparta v Al-Fateh

Al-Fateh are five points clear at the top but three of their remaining four matches come against the top 6. Sparta have caused all sorts of problems to the bigger teams and a result here could see them genuinely challenge for the promotion spots. We might just be in for a surprise result but a full strength Al-Fateh squad will find goals against any opposition. Nihal Colaco and Zaib Sherief have 24 goals and 10 assists shared between them equally.

Crystal Ball: FCB Sparta (1) – (2) Al-Fateh

9:30 AM – FC Brunton v FC Lawless

Nakul Ganapathy and Aditya Chandra face their old team as FC Brunton play FC Lawless in the next game of the day. Both players played for Brunton in Season 2 and will want to vindicate their choice as they look to build on their first win of the season. Brunton have tapered off after a strong start to the season and need to find a way to score more goals if they are to pick up wins and get back into the mix of things.

Crystal Ball: FC Brunton (2) – (2) FC Lawless

11:00 AM – Athlos United v Grasshoppers FC

Athlos United face a tough matchup in Grasshoppers FC but need to pick up all three points to keep their hopes of promotion alive. Grasshoppers have strengthened considerably over the winter break, which should help them finish the season strong and will look to start that here. A close match looks to be on the cards and with both teams solid on defence, we don’t expect too many goals in the game.

Crystal Ball: Athlos United (1) – (1) Grasshoppers FC

12:30 AM – FC Bengal v FC Kudlu

The surprise team of the season, FC Bengal find themselves in second place with only 4 games to go and can almost feel their hands on promotion. FC Kudlu on the other hand, haven’t had a great start to their TAL career but can turn things around with a win here. Kudlu have been vastly inconsistent and need to find some stability if they are to churn our performances on a consistent basis.

Crystal Ball: FC Bengal (3) – (2) FC Kudlu

2:15 PM – Diablos FC v Netbusters FC

Diablos FC led the table in GW 4 but have fallen drastically since, to currently sit in 5th and are now left with an outside chance to grab one of the promotion spots. Netbusters FC currently reside at the bottom of the table but their past few outings have been improved performances and their first win looks right around the corner. Both teams need a win badly and we expect an all-out attacking game.

Crystal Ball: Diablos FC (4) – (2) Netbusters FC

3:45 PM – Joras v Titans FC

The final game of the day features Joras and Titans. Joras have added considerably over the break to boost their depleted squad and have looked a much-improved side over the past few weeks. Titans went into the break on a goalless draw against Athlos and are still in mathematical contention for the title, although they will be happy with a top three finish. We expect this to be another close game but one that Titans will be favorites to win.

Crystal Ball: Joras (1) – (2) Titans FC
