TAL Season 3: Season Finale Preview – TAL “Crystal Ball”

Can Imdad & Co. mastermind a victory over Champions Al-Fateh to clinch promotion?

The Season Finale is finally upon us we are in the last leg of what has been an action-packed five months. Though the champions for both the Divisions have been decided, we have saved the best for last starting with the blockbuster game between Division 1 champions Parikrma and runners-up Horizons FC followed by Division 2 action when Al-Fateh take on Athlos United, the result of which will decide where Athlos will play next season.

In other games, FC Bengal meet Netbusters while Titans clash with Grasshoppers and the results of these two games, combined with that of the Al-Fateh-Athlos game will decide the fate of these three teams. Mercurial FC lock horns with Yataghan in the other Division 1 game of the day

8:00 AM – Netbusters FC v FC Bengal

The action on the final day is kicked off with the game between FC Bengal and Netbusters FC. FC Bengal can potentially guarantee themselves of second place and in turn promotion to Division 1, if they win this game, which will leave the fight for the play-off spot between Athlos and Titans.

Netbusters, on the other hand, have nothing much to play for except for the fact that they can pick up their first win of the season and get off the bottom of the table to finish 11th. But given what is at stake for Bengal, they can be expected to come out firing all guns in a bid to secure their spot in Division 1 for next season.

Crystal Ball: Netbusters FC (0) – (2) FC Bengal

9:30 AM – Mercurial FC v Yataghan Internazionale

Mercurial FC take on Yataghan in the next game of the day with not much at stake for both teams. Mercurial have already been relegated to Division 2 for next season and can see this as an opportunity to go out on a high.

Yataghan must be still wondering how they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against Gremio in their last game but will look to put that game behind them. They are currently in 8th place but a win here can propel them up to as high as 5th place and this is exactly what they will look to do.

Crystal Ball: Mercurial FC (0) – (2) Yataghan Internazionale

11:00 AM – Titans FC v Grasshoppers FC

One of the games that will be pivotal in deciding the final standings in Division 2 is up next when Titans clash with Grasshoppers. Titans are in 5th place currently but have to win this game to stay in the hunt for promotion.

They will however, have to wait till the game between Al-Fateh and Athlos to find what fate has in store for them but they will want to do their end of the job by winning this match. That should not be a tough task for them given Grasshoppers abysmal form that has seen them slide down the table to the 10th place they currently find themselves in.

Crystal Ball: Titans FC (2) – (1) Project 7

12:30 PM – Parikrma v Horizons FC

The final game of the Division 1 for this season is the showpiece event between Division 1 champions Parikrma and Horizons FC. Arguably the two best teams in the league, go head-to-head in what will be a spectacle to look forward to with the array of talent on display, although the result of the game is academic.

Parikrma will look to keep their unbeaten record intact whereas Horizons will look to win this game to salvage some pride from what has been a disappointing season by their lofty standards. All this should make for an exciting game which both teams will go all-out to win.

Crystal Ball: Parikrma (2) – (1) Horizons FC

2:15 PM – Al-Fateh v Athlos United

The final game of the season is between Division 2 champions Al-Fateh and Athlos United. Though this game is of little consequence to the championship, it will be crucial in deciding if Athlos can hang on to the promotion play-off spot they are in currently. Though the final contenders for promotion are dependent on the FC Bengal and Titans games, Athlos by far have the toughest game, one they will need to play out of their skins to get a result. One can expect Athlos to put in a spirited performance, but if they have the talent to pull this one off remains to be seen.

Crystal Ball: Al-Fateh (2) – (2) Athlos United
