Thierry Henry has revealed he has played his last game for New York Red Bulls

Thierry Henry has revealed that he will no longer play for New York Red Bulls after four and a half years with the Major League Soccer side.

Henry said, "The decision has always been that I would leave after the duration of my contract.

“I'll take the next few weeks to decide on the next chapter of my career."

Thierry Henry’s last game with the American outfit resulted in a 2-2 draw against New England Revolution. This result meant that NY Red Bulls were knocked out of the Eastern Conference Championship play-off by an aggregate score of 4-3.

What does the future hold for Henry?

Henry, a World Cup winner in 1998, was asked last week on what would happen when his contract with New York Red Bulls expires. He replied, "Nothing is clear, I still haven't taken a decision and it's not my thing to speculate. One thing is certain: I am going to stay in football, to coach, as a pundit, official, we'll see."

He added fuel to speculation linking him to a spectacular return to Arsenal. If he does so, it will be his third stint at the London club after making his name with the Gunners.

“Another thing is certain: I would like to see Arsenal win the Champions League," he said. "Whether I see that from afar or up close is not up to me, but it's sure that I would like to help, because it's my club and as a player I wasn't able to bring them the Champions League.”

One thing is for sure, the Frenchman would love a return to the club where he established himself as one of the best players in the world and so would the supporters of the club.
