Dheeraj Moirangthem Singh has captured a lot of eyes during India’s campaign in the FIFA U17 World Cup. The India keeper made save after save against higher quality opposition like USA, Colombia, and Ghana, keeping the home side in contention for a Round of 16 spot till the last game.

Now the goalkeeper is impressing one and all with his skill with the ball at his feet.

In a video that has gone viral on Twitter, Dheeraj was seen taking a corner kick from behind the goal- line, which he curled into the net, seemingly with relative ease. Here’s the video:

Dheeraj has shown a lot of potential during the World Cup, even managing to catch the eyes of some scouts from some of the top clubs in the world.

Scouts from top European clubs like Galatasaray, Manchester United and Freiburg have reportedly been present in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, where Dheeraj showed off his skills under the bar.

Sadly, India could not progress beyond the group stages of the tournament, losing 3-0 at the hands of USA, 2-1 at the hands of Colombia, and 4-0 at the hands of tournament favourites Ghana.

Although India lost all of their matches against USA, Colombia and Ghana in the group stages of the tournament, the likes of Komal Thatal, Jeakson Singh Thaunaojam, Anwar Ali, along with Dheeraj have won plenty of hearts with their performances.

Being clubbed in such a tight group, India were never really expected to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament. However, the Indian colts won billions of hearts with their performance, something that gives a lot of hope to football fans from around the country.
