The Free Fire OB42 Advance Server went live earlier today, bringing countless tentative changes to this game. Before introducing a major patch, Garena releases Advance Servers to avoid any glitches in the final release. This studio also checks gamers’ reception and makes alterations to the official patch based on it. To experience the new features in OB42's Advance Server, you must use the associated codes.

However, these aren’t easy to get, as they’re available for a limited period and for only a handful of players. If you find any bug while playing this Advanced Server, you can report it to Garena, as the company rewards a lucrative amount of FF Diamonds when they're informed of issues in these pre-release versions.

Moreover, OB42's live server has brought endless changes to the game, such as the classic Free Fire anthem, 360-degree view access while driving, character adjustments, and more. This article will list the best three features that the OB42 Advanced Server offers in Free Fire.

3 best updates to Free Fire in OB42 Advanced Server

1) Map updates

Garena has made significant changes in Free Fire's maps. For starters, as the OB42 patch is also called the "Winter update," the developer has given this game's Bermuda map chilled and snowy weather in its Advanced Server. Thus, in the forthcoming update, fans are likely to witness stunning scenery involving snow-clad terrain.

As Bermuda has been given frosty weather, players will face difficulty in spotting far-off enemies. Also, the climate may hinder your line of sight, making it harder to land precise shots on opponents. Giving this map a realistic touch, Garena has designed frozen lakes for it, which will allow you to cross them without having to use bridges.

Another major update that Garena has brought to Free Fire's maps is in their zone rotations. After the forthcoming update, the zones won't only shrink but are also going to move toward different directions, making it tricky to capture or stay in a single location for long.

2) FF Tokens

The OB42 Advanced Server has given a significant place to FF Tokens in the game's matches. This in-match currency can turn out to be the reason for your victory going forward. After eliminating an opponent, you'll receive some amount of FF Tokens in the Advance Server, and this reward will be increased with subsequent kills. However, if you get knocked down, you’ll lose half of your accumulated FF Tokens.

Free Fire maps will also present numerous machines scattered all around them that offer this currency. Upon nearing these devices, you’ll receive 200 FF Tokens. With this currency, you can purchase skills Chronos and Clu's skills via the available vending machines. While the former will cost you 500 Tokens, the latter will set you back 300.

Also, Garena has introduced a new item in these vending machines named Portal Go. This will cost you 800 FF Tokens to buy and can transport you across a long distance instantly.

3) Character reworks

In the forthcoming update, many characters are going to get nerfed. Sonia, who enters an invulnerable state upon her skill activation, used to gain a 150 HP shield. However, this number is reduced to 100 in the Advanced Server. Similarly, the beloved character Orion absorbs 15 HP/s of his nearby enemies upon his skill activation, which has been lowered to 10 HP/s.

To ensure the character Wukong is hidden in the snowy terrain, his special ability will now allow him to transform into a snow-made monkey.

Along with all these updates, Garena has introduced a new character in the OB42 Advanced Server. Ignis, bearing an active skill named Flam Mirage, can form a 10m wide screen of flames that lasts eight seconds. An enemy standing close to the fire will experience a burning effect that will instantly reduce 30 HP of their health; the damage will be increased by 10 HP every second.
