Team News

On Friday, Chennai’s marquee player, Falcao, had vowed to rebound strongly in the second game, and they will have to as they will be going up against a confident Kochi team that beat the team that beat them, Mumbai, last evening.

Michel Salgado’s men trumped Ryan Giggs’ Mumbai 5s in impressive fashion, winning 4-1. They defended very well, putting in a great many last ditch tackles to keep out the opposition and hitting them hard on the counter.

The combination of Deivis Moraes and Chaguinha up front, proved devastating for Mumbai as the pair opened them up to score past the impressive Luis Amado in goal. Chennai’s defence was found wanting in the first game and they will thus have to be wary.

Falcao got on the score sheet, getting one of his side's two goals, but the comeback was a little too late to salvage the situation as they were already 4-0 down. The Chennai team will have to kick into gear much sooner on Sunday. They were also missing their coach and we'll have to wait and watch if that void gets filled today or if Falcao is forced to take up that role as well.

The tournament hasn’t seen any team win both their matches so far and it is likely to continue tonight. A high-scoring draw is possibly on the cards.
