Malinga is among the top bowlers in EA Cricket 07

Even after almost a decade after its release, EA Cricket 07 still enjoys a large user base, which has been developing patches to enhance the gameplay. The Vivo IPL 9 is a third party patch developed for Cricket 07, which features the IPL mode with current teams and their rosters.

The Vivo IPL 9 game is similar to Cricket 07 but with better gameplay style, facial graphics for players and better console for bowling and batting. The new and updated roster gives you the option to choose current players for your team.

Here are the five best bowlers in the game who have also featured in the IPL.

#5 Lasith Malinga - 90

Malinga became famous largely due to his unique bowling style, which also created a few problems for him from the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Sri Lankan is also called as ‘Slinga Malinga’ due to his slinging bowling action.

Malinga is known for his ability to bowl yorkers and slow balls to keep run scoring under limits in the death overs. He is rated 90 for his bowling accuracy in the game while all his lowest rating is 86 for in swing bowling. The right arm fast-medium bowler is prolific in standard deliveries, outswingers, in swingers, leg cutters, off cutters, yorkers, bouncers, and slow balls.

He also has special bowling skills like ‘Partnership breaker’, ‘Strike Bowler’, ‘Miser’, ‘Trickster’, and ‘Work horse’. Malinga has taken 291 wickets in 191 ODIs, at an economy rate 5.26 runs per over. His attributes in the game make him one of the best bowlers in Vivo IPL 9.

#4 Dale Steyn – 94

Dale Steyn keeps his reputation as the best bowler intact in EA Cricket 07

Dale Steyn is regarded as the best fast bowler of his generation and the greatest bowler of all time in South African cricket. He has dominated the number one spot in ICC test rankings throughout most of his career.

The right arm pacer has bowling strengths in standard deliveries, outswingers, in swingers, leg cutters, off cutters, yorkers, bouncers, and reverse swing. He also has special bowling skills like ‘Partnership breaker’, ‘Strike Bowler’, ‘Miser’, ‘Trickster’, and ‘Work horse’.

Steyn is an aggressive bowler and can bowl easily at speeds averaging 150km/h, his fastest being 156.2km/h during the 2010 IPL. He has taken 180 wickets in 116 ODIs, at an economy rate of 4.94 runs per over, all of which make his EA Cricket 07 rating not much of a surprise.

#3 Mitchell Starc- 96

Starc is no slouch in EA Cricket 07

Mitchell Starc became the fastest bowler to reach the 100 wicket mark in ODI cricket, breaking Saqlain Mushtaq's 19-year-old record against Sri Lanka last year. Starc’s aggressive bowling style is known to make life uncomfortable for the batsmen, also a reason why he was the leading wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup.

Starc has a rating of 96 for his bowling accuracy in the game. The left-handed fast-medium bowler’s strengths include the standard deliveries, outswingers, in swingers, leg cutters, off cutters, yorkers, bouncers and slow balls.

He also has a few special bowling skills like ‘Partnership breaker’, ‘Strike Bowler’, ‘Miser’, ‘Trickster’, and ‘Workhorse’. He has taken 129 wickets in 65 ODIs, at an economy rate of 4.81 runs per over. Among the elite bowlers in world cricket, Starc is also of the highest level in EA Cricket 07.

#2 Ravichandran Ashwin - 96

Ashwin is as good in EA Cricket as he is in real life

Ravichandran Ashwin is the only Indian after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to win the ICC Cricketer of the Year award. The off-spinner is the fastest Indian to reach the 250- wicket mark in Test cricket.

R Ashwin has a rating of 96 for his bowling accuracy and all his other ratings are above 90. He specialises in offbreak, armball, doosra, full flight, and the teesra. Ashwin fits into the team as a strike bowler, and the game also rates his ability to trick the batsman.

Ashwin has taken 145 wickets in 105 ODIs at an economy rate of 4.91 runs per over. He has performed much better in Test cricket taking 275 wickets in 49 matches at an economy rate of 2.88 runs per over. With his skills, Ashwin is a must-have bowler in the game.

#1 Barinder Sran - 100

Sran has surprisingly good numbers

Barinder Sran is not known by many but caught attention last year due to his 4/10 bowling stint against Zimbabwe, the best by an Indian debutant in T20I cricket. The left-arm pacer is rated 100 for his bowling accuracy in the game. All his other bowling ratings are at 100 too.

Barinder is the master of standard deliveries, outswingers, in swingers, leg cutters, off cutters, yorkers, bouncers, and reverse swing.

Brainder Sran has played six ODIs for the Indian team taking 7 wickets at an economy rate of 5.34 runs per over. He is the best bowler in the game rating wise but still to prove his skills on the pitch with better statistics. The potential is there for all to see, as is evident in the game.
